Wellness Professionals is proud to introduce its comprehensive intensive outpatient weight management program for adolescents and
adults. Weight loss and weight management are complex issues that need to be
addressed from biological, social, and psychological perspectives. Our obesity treatment, designed to help adolescents and adults who suffer from
obesity and desire to lost weight in a healthy manner. This treatment program integrates the best of research on behavioral weight loss with one-on-one coaching and
skills and therapy groups that build on cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy techniques. We will teach you skills to control your weight once and
for all by directly addressing personal obstacles to long-term weight control.
To supplement IOP, we recommend a consultation with our psychiatrist in order to evaluate and treat any underlying disordered eating, attention deficit, trauma symptoms, and anxiety and mood disorders. Also, we recommend you meet with our medical consultant who can evaluate metabolism and screen for medical complications associated with chronic dieting, weight fluctuation, and binge eating.
Our IOP Program is an effective weight loss program and a scientifically-based approach to healthy weight loss and weight control. The program is led by our qualified team of highly trained therapists and other professionals. It focuses on achieving healthy weight control by treating the complete biological, psychological, medical, and social perspectives. Cherie L. Massmann, MA, LPC, NCC earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1999. Ms. Massmann has joined Webster Wellness Professionals as a therapist for the Greenlight Weight Loss Program. She will be running the groups for Greenlight and offering individual consultations for individuals working on achieving lasting, healthy weight loss.
Ms. Massmann is a cognitive-behaviorally trained therapist with over 9 years of experience treating binge eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, and obesity in adults and adolescents as a staff therapist in the Departments of Psychiatry and Internal Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. She has been part of several multi-center National Institute of Health grants including: the Treatment Options for Type 2 Diabetes in Adolescents and Youth (TODAY study) and the Comprehensive Maintenance Program to Achieve Sustained Success (COMPASS), a treatment of childhood obesity. She currently serves as a staff psychotherapist for the Comprehensive Assessment of Long-Term Effects of Reducing Intake of Energy (CALERIE study) at Washington University School of Medicine.
Kim McCallum, MD, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), Fellow American Psychiatric Association (FAPA), is a board-certified psychiatrist in child, adolescent, and in adult psychiatry and is a certified eating disorder specialist with 25 years of experience in the field. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) as well as the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). She has lectured across the country on a variety of topics, achieving national recognition for her skills and knowledge in treating eating disorders.
